Our life is a constant battle.
No I’m not talking about spears, swords, bloodshed, or secret ninjas. But everything from our struggles in different aspects of our lives do come close to it. (Not the ninja part, thought!) Relationships, education, jobs, career, boss, colleagues, parents, friends- every struggle counts. So, let’s go back to the era of actual wars and hear the words of the Chinese general, military strategist, writer, and philosopher – SUN TZU.
His art of war is still considered by many power players of the world – presidents, kings, managers and some cool common people too.
So, read some of this legendary (wait for it) historical and military figure – Sun Tzu’s very thought-provoking words, set them as your wallpapers, and you can even quote him to your friends too, if you like.
“He will win who knows when to fight and when not to fight.”
“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before the defeat.”
“Pretend inferiority and encourage his arrogance.”
“Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win.”
“Prohibit the taking of omens, and do away with superstitions doubts. Then, until death itself comes, no calamity need be feared.”
“He will win who knows how to handle both superior and inferior forces.”
“The General who wins the battle makes many calculations in his temple before the battle is fought. The general who loses makes but few calculations beforehand.”
“Know thy self, know thy enemy. Thousand battles, a thousand victories.”
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles;
If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat;
If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
“In the midst of chaos, there is also opportunity.”
“To know your enemy, you must become your ENEMY.”
