Buddha born as Siddhartha Gautama, a prince to an entire clan in Lumbini, forgone it all and lived an ascetic life. Being sheltered his whole life by the king, but on that one day in his twenties he saw three things -an old man, a deceased man and a decaying corpse. Face to face with the realities of the human world and suffering, he left it all behind him and became the great teacher. His teachings provides guidance and through his quotes, we too can see some of those.
